This program starts soon after the New Year and runs 7 – 10 weeks. This program is for beginners, both boys and girls, and it focuses on teaching basic basketball skills, with scrimmages and preparation for league play.
Juniors – fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade players Seniors – seventh, eighth, and ninth-grade players
Juniors and Seniors play in the East Penn Youth Basketball League, which consists of teams from Emmaus, Macungie, Alburtis, Upper Milford Township, Salisbury Township, and Mountainville. This league is instructional and is suitable for players with a wide range of skill levels, including beginners. There are no tryouts for this league, and league rules ensure that all participants get game experience through playing time. Coordinators attempt to form balanced teams to ensure a positive playing experience for all teams. Players may not be “double-rostered” on travel teams or school teams.
Practices begin in late November, as gym time becomes available.
